Purpose of SkyAware

SkyAware is a severe-weather awareness product designed to help users understand storm risk, severe threats, local alerts, and changing weather conditions at a glance.

SkyAware is intended to provide supplemental awareness and context. It is not an official weather warning system, emergency alert system, public safety authority, or replacement for information from official weather sources.

Weather Data and Summaries

SkyAware may display, process, summarize, or derive information from weather sources such as the National Weather Service, the Storm Prediction Center, Apple WeatherKit, and related weather products.

SkyAware’s summaries, badges, risk levels, map views, and notifications are informational. They may simplify, interpret, or combine weather data for readability, but they are not official forecasts, warnings, or emergency instructions.

Notifications and Availability

SkyAware may provide notifications or background updates when supported by the app, device, operating system, network connection, and SkyAware services.

Notifications and background updates are not guaranteed. They may be delayed, throttled, suppressed, fail to deliver, or be unavailable due to device settings, network conditions, platform behavior, service interruptions, or other factors outside SkyAware’s control.

You are responsible for maintaining your own awareness of severe-weather conditions and should continue to monitor official sources when weather may affect your safety.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse SkyAware or the SkyAware website. This includes:

• Attempting to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with SkyAware services
• Using SkyAware for unlawful, abusive, harmful, or misleading purposes
• Scraping, harvesting, or redistributing site or service content except as permitted by law
• Misrepresenting SkyAware content as official emergency guidance or official government-issued warning information

Intellectual Property

SkyAware, the SkyAware name, visual design, app imagery, website content, and related product materials are owned by SkyAware or its creator unless otherwise noted.

Weather data and source products remain subject to the terms, rights, and attribution requirements of their respective providers.

Third-Party Services

SkyAware may rely on third-party platforms, infrastructure providers, weather data providers, app distribution platforms, and device operating system services to operate the app and website.

SkyAware is not responsible for outages, data issues, delays, limitations, or terms imposed by those third-party services.

Privacy

SkyAware’s privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy. By using SkyAware, you acknowledge that your use is also subject to that policy.

No Warranty

SkyAware is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkyAware makes no warranties about accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, or suitability for emergency decision-making.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkyAware and its creator will not be liable for damages or losses arising from your use of, inability to use, or reliance on SkyAware, including weather data, summaries, notifications, maps, risk indicators, or website content.

SkyAware may update these Terms of Use as the product, website, services, or legal requirements change. Updated terms will be published on this page.

Continued use of SkyAware after updated terms are posted means you accept the updated terms.
